Title: Understanding the Alberta Securities Commission (ASC) Whistleblower Program 

This presentation will provide an overview of the Alberta Securities Commission (ASC) Whistleblower Program, explaining among other things, who is a whistleblower and the legal protections available to whistleblowers under the Alberta Securities Act.

Presented by:  Solomon Ngoladi

Solomon Ngoladi is the Officer, Office of the Whistleblower within the Enforcement division of the Alberta Securities Commission, and in this role, he is responsible for the intake and assessment of tips and reprisal reports submitted by whistleblowers. In addition, he plays a key role in the formulation of internal processes for the administration of the ASC’s Whistleblower program and in stakeholder engagement, outreaches and public awareness in respect of the program. 

Prior to joining the ASC, Solomon spent over 10 years (cumulatively ) at an overseas securities regulator and at the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO), the securities market global standard-setting body. He holds a bachelor’s degree in law (LL.B) and a master’s degree (LL.M) in International Business Law.
