The AAPP is excited to bring you an informative webinar on the AREA contract and the life of a real estate file.

Our presenters will cover:

  • a brief, yet detailed run down of the main parts of an AREA contract that forms the transaction;
  • a few key terms in the contract, and what they mean;
  • what happens when you get a new real estate file;
  • initial searches needed, and what to look at on the searches;
  • client contact - what their next steps are;
  • interactions with other professionals on a file;
  • staying calm and positive in the fast paced real estate world.

You will also receive some tips from a real estate lawyer on what they look for in a real estate paralegal.

Our Presenters:  Joshua Jackson & Natesha Francis

Joshua obtained his Juris Doctor from the University of Alberta in 2013 and was called to the Alberta bar in 2014. His main areas of practice are Real Estate, Wills and Estates, and Corporate Commercial Law. He is a member of the Canadian Bar Association Alberta Branch and is a past Co-Chair of the Real Property Law (North) Section. Joshua sits on the Indigenous Advisory Committee for the Law Society of Alberta where he works with other committee members to advance the goals of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action.

Joshua joined Litco Law in 2021 as an Associate Lawyer. He looks forward to continuing his work with clients and assisting individuals with stressful situations they may encounter. Joshua embraces our core value of Own It through his belief that blaming others is a missed learning opportunity.  In his spare time, Joshua can be found hiking and camping in Alberta’s backcountry or on a dragonboat racing down the North Saskatchewan River.
